What’s it like to drive an F1 car?

I had no idea. I do understand that competitive driving is physically taxing and takes lots of skill, pretty much regardless of what type of racing you participate in. But I had no idea how sheerly difficult it would be for even an experienced driver like Top Gear’s Richard Hammond to get remotely acclimated in one of these cars.

Before you get to the videos, I’d like to share my two favorite parts. Around 7 minutes in the first video, when he first lays into the throttle on a straight. His screams of excitement combined with the song of that amazing motor made my hair stand up. Towards the end of the second clip (which is only a couple minutes long BTW), they use the computer (a ThinkPad) to play a melody in honor of Richard - you will see what I mean. :turbonaug:
